Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), after BDS, is the highest academic and clinical degree in the field of dentistry. MDS allows dental graduates to specialize in a specific branch of dentistry and develop advanced clinical skills, diagnostic expertise, and research-oriented knowledge.
MDS is a postgraduate program with a duration of 3 years. The course focuses on specialized dental training, clinical practice, patient management, and academic research. It prepares students to become expert dental specialists, consultants, academicians, and researchers.
The MDS curriculum combines theoretical learning with extensive clinical exposure. Students undergo advanced clinical training, case presentations, seminars, journal reviews, and dissertation work. The program is structured into three academic years, with increasing levels of specialization and responsibility.
