Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is the most prestigious undergraduate medical degree in India. The course focuses on the study of human anatomy, diseases, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, preparing students to become qualified medical doctors.
MBBS is an undergraduate professional program with a total duration of 5.5 years, which includes 4.5 years of academic study and 1 year of compulsory rotating internship. The program combines classroom learning with extensive clinical and hospital-based training.
The MBBS curriculum emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical clinical exposure. Students are trained in pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical subjects, with hands-on experience in hospitals, outpatient departments, wards, and emergency units.
The candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board.
Mandatory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Candidates must have qualified NEET UG, which is mandatory for MBBS admission in India.
Nationality: Indian Nationals, Foreign Nationals, OCIs, PIOs, and NRIs are eligible as per government regulations.
The candidate must be at least 17 years old as of 31st December of the admission year.
