Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) is a professional undergraduate degree focused on animal healthcare, livestock management, disease prevention, and animal welfare. The course trains students to diagnose and treat animal diseases while promoting public health and food safety.
BVSc & AH is an undergraduate program with a total duration of 5.5 years, which includes 5 years of academic study and 6 months of compulsory rotating internship. The program combines veterinary science with animal husbandry practices, preparing students for clinical, field, and research roles.
The curriculum covers veterinary anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, surgery, gynecology, animal nutrition, breeding, livestock management, and veterinary public health. Students receive extensive practical training through veterinary hospitals, farms, and diagnostic laboratories.
The candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board.
Mandatory subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Candidates must have qualified NEET UG, which is mandatory for veterinary admissions in India.
Nationality: Indian Nationals, Foreign Nationals, OCIs, PIOs, and NRIs are eligible as per government norms.
The candidate must be at least 17 years old as of 31st December of the admission year.
